Wing Commander Namrita Chandi (Retd) is a former Indian Air Force pilot with 15 years of distinguished service and over 2,500 hours of flying experience. She also held a Civil Pilot License on civil helicopters. Commissioned into the Indian Air Force in June 1996, she went on to achieve several milestones during her career.
Post-retirement in June 2011, she completed her post-graduation in Business Management from IIM Bangalore and has since been actively engaged in various segments of the civil aviation industry in India. Her key roles include Vice President – Operations & Customer Support at Indocopters Pvt. Ltd. and Sales Manager for Helicopters in India & South Asia at Airbus Helicopters.
Namrita is globally recognized as the first woman pilot to fly in the Siachen Glacier and land at the world’s highest Advanced Landing Ground (ALG). She features in the Limca Book of Records as part of the first pair of sisters to fly together as pilot and co-pilot. She is also a recipient of the prestigious National Award “Annanya” from the Government of India (2007), a TEDx speaker, motivational speaker, and executive coach.
She is a life member of the Rotary Wing Society of India and the Aeronautical Society of India. Namrita is happily married and a proud mother of a daughter and a son.
