Enterprise Resource Group
The Enterprise Resource Group (ERG), is a volunteer group led by 7 core committees at TIPL. This is a unique initiative to mobilise resources as cross-functional teams and steer employee and organisation interest across different areas. There are dedicated work groups for Sports, Textron Women India Network (TWIN), BRIDGE newsletter, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Employee Health and Safety (EHS), Toastmasters (communication skills), Culutural Committee, Canteen and Transport committees.
The ERG is effectively working towards promoting team work, leveraging talent and optimising managerial and leadership qualities among employees. A deeper engagement and involvement of employees across levels has therefore made the work environment more sustainable and people-friendly.
The volunteer participation of employees is a commendable effort and it helps enhance productivity and growth of the organization. It has led to growing employee engagement and involvement with outreach with 90% of the workforce.
The Sports Committee is committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle and wellbeing for employees in the organsiation. The group organises various in-house sporting activities and contests across, in-indoor and outdoor sporting events and tournaments. This also gives equal opportunity for participation to men and women employees. Textron Women India Network (TWIN)
Textron Women India Network (TWIN) is a special initiative for encouragement to the women workforce, helping them realize their strengths across spheres of life. New ideas and events to socialize women in the organisation and interaction with people across the board at Textron is a key measure to engage women employees in the course of the year and add confidence and value to their lives.
The Bridge Committee consolidates reports from all business units and ERG committees at TIPL, fulfilling a challenging role of publishing editorial for respective quarterly editions. The BRIDGE is a quarterly internal journal that provides a holistic update and view of activities at TIPL. The Bridge also has a global circulation with select audiences at Textron. Started in 2015, it has progressively developed each edition with enhancements in content, design and packaging. This has led to great response in readership.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) group is actively engaged in partnering with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) for social upliftment and commitment to building community relations. The commitment extends to addressing needs of the underprivileged strata of society, particuarly in areas of childcare development, education and healthcare. The objective is to support long-term and sustainable solutions to help improve the lives of people. In fulfilling the cause, volunteer roles and participation of employees is an important part of the initaitive, moving beyond monetary contribution.
Employee Health and Safety (EHS)
The committee for Employee Health and Safety (EHS) takes care of maintaining incident/accident free workplace and hence a greener and safe environment in the company. This committee carries out one of the most essential activities with respect to employee safety and health. The EHS Council is an environmentally responsible resource group and drives awareness campaigns, knowledge sharing sessions and environment, health and safety related activities throughout the year. And most importantly, it is responsible for carrying out a rescue operation, if any, during emergency, e.g. fire, incident/accident/eventuality etc.
The Toastmasters Club helps employees showcase and develop their talent towards improved communication and leadership skills. Textron India toastmasters, have constantly participated in, contended and organized various sessions & contests. They have successfully used this platform and achieved recognition as the Select Distinguished Club status in 2014-15 and 2015-16.
The Cultural Committee works towards organizing events and social activities round the year to keep employees involved and energized. Special occasions and landmark days are celebrated at TIPL with a lot of enthusiasm, bringing everyone together in high spirits. The committee drives opportunity to showcase employee talent and creativity and great management skills. One of the important annual event organized by the committee is “Textron Habba”.
